Are you screaming “May Day” about your nonprofit’s fundraising results?

Amber Stott of Women’s Empowerment asked me to pass along an opportunity for non-profit board members, fundraising professionals, executive directors (and volunteers like me who attempt to help non-profits improve their fundraising efforts).  The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) California Capital Chapter is teaming up with Merrill Lynch financial professionals to offer a half-day workshop this Wednesday, May 5, for just $50.

Last year was the worst year for charitable giving in a decade, according to AFP, and less than half of non-profits raised as much money as they did the prior year.

Workshops will offer training on current trends in philanthropy, ideas for rebalancing investments, identifying the right skill set for board members, donor advised funds, and more.

Register online but do it soon – space is limited.  The event starts at noon so you can even get a few things done in the morning.

Follow Amber and learn about Women’s Empowerment on Twitter @WEendhomelessness, or, if you’re into cooking, @AwakeAtTheWhisk, or into the environment and gardening, see her blog as Green Beat on sacrag.com.  Whew!  And she does great work for Women’s Empowerment, too!
